Living in Captivity is a workplace comedy set in a zoo and styled like a wildlife documentary about the mysterious species Homo sapiens. When novice zookeeper Alexandra Vogel is left in charge of the zoo on the day of the arrival of a new chimpanzee troop, her disgruntled co-workers plot to sabotage her leadership role. But when bonobo apes- the porn stars of the animal kingdom- are delivered instead, Alex makes the controversial decision to put them on exhibit, resulting in a media frenzy that puts her job in jeopardy.
